Armat is an evolving art world where yoga, Zen, and visual art flow as one — unfolding through illustrations, yoga films, meditative live sessions, and modern koans. More than an art project, it is also an innovative art & wellbeing program, creating gentle spaces where creativity and mindfulness meet.
Founded in New York by Chinese artist Yadi Liu (刘亚迪), Armat is anchored in her belief in revealing our invisible true nature through art.
Meaning,
The name Armat holds this truth within it:
"Art comes from the mat. Armat comes from our atman" — the innermost self.
Born,
Rooted in Yadi’s deep fascination with the graceful curves of the human body and her personal journey into Zen philosophy, Armat was born from her unexpected moment of satori, a felt awakening into the quiet unity between nature, spirit, and self. In Chinese philosophy, this harmony is known as 天人合一, when the human spirit aligns with the greater rhythm of nature.
Each Armat creation seeks to visualize the unseen:
the flow of energy in a yoga pose, the calm that lives beneath motion, the quiet truths within us.
Ways,
Believing that every breath contains a story and every posture holds a hidden energy, Armat moves fluidly across forms. From digital illustrations to yoga-infused animations, from meditative live session to silent comics inspired by Zen koans.
Hope,
It is a practice of making the invisible visible.
It is a slow practice of remembering, a returning to what already lives within us.
Through Armat, we invite you to pause. To feel. To see the beauty beneath the noise, and perhaps, to gently draw it out.
